Terms & Conditions
Legacy Sprinklers LLC Last Updated: May 2026
Approving a quote or submitting payment constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and forms a binding agreement between the client and Legacy Sprinklers LLC ("Contractor"). Electronic approval and payment are legally equivalent to a signed written contract.
This agreement is governed by Utah law. If any provision is deemed unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
1. Quote Validity & Scope of Work
Quotes are valid for 30 days and apply only to the specific items, quantities, and services listed.
Sprinkler systems vary widely in depth, material, age, installation method, soil conditions, and prior workmanship. This quote covers only the tasks and materials expressly described.
Contractor is not responsible for correcting deficiencies, failures, or design issues related to prior installations, undocumented modifications, or concealed conditions outside the quoted scope.
2. Common Discoveries During On-Site Work
Underground conditions cannot be fully assessed prior to excavation. Contractor commonly discovers conditions outside the quoted scope, including root intrusion, corroded or deteriorated pipes and valves, prior modifications or non-standard installations, concrete or compacted soil at unexpected depths, abandoned pipe or debris, and underground utilities or wiring.
If any such condition is discovered, Contractor will stop work, document findings with photos, and contact you by phone or text with a specific cost estimate before proceeding.
3. Additional Work Discovered On-Site
If on-site conditions reveal work beyond the quoted scope, Contractor will:
Stop work immediately
Document the condition with photos
Contact you by phone or text with a cost estimate
Wait for your written approval before proceeding
Written approval includes email, text message, or verbal approval documented by Contractor in the service record.
If you do not respond within 4 business hours, Contractor will attempt a second contact. If no response is received within 8 business hours, work will pause until approval is received.
All approved additional work beyond the quoted or diagnosed scope is billed at $195 per hour and documented via photo, text confirmation, and jobsite notes before proceeding. This hourly rate applies specifically to added scope discovered and approved on-site. It does not apply to diagnostic or warranty evaluation visits, which are billed as a flat rate per Section 6, regardless of time on-site.
4. Installation Depth & Underground Conditions
Contractor installs new lateral and main lines to an industry-standard depth of 8 to 12 inches when soil and site conditions permit. Depth may vary based on terrain, roots, rocks, compacted soil, or underground utilities.
When repairing or modifying an existing system, Contractor works at the depth where existing lines are located. Many older or homeowner-installed systems were installed at shallow or inconsistent depths.
Contractor does not warrant the depth, condition, or long-term performance of pre-existing systems.
5. Testing, Completion & System Function
A job is considered complete when all quoted components are installed or repaired and the system operates without visible leaks under normal operating pressure.
Unless specifically listed in the quote, completion does not include coverage optimization, timer programming, seasonal adjustments, sod replacement or landscaping restoration, grading corrections, wiring upgrades, or pressure issues caused by city supply or homeowner plumbing.
6. Workmanship Warranty
We stand behind our work. Every repair and installation is backed by a 14-day workmanship warranty on labor, covering defects in the specific components we installed or repaired.
What's covered: If a part we installed or repaired fails due to an installation error within 14 days of service, we'll fix it at no charge.
Workmanship defect defined: a part we installed or repaired was installed incorrectly, damaged, or defective at the time of service, and that specific error is the direct cause of the issue. It does not include symptoms that can result from normal use over time, such as heads needing readjustment, nozzles wearing or clogging, coverage shifting due to ground settling or pressure changes, or turf not responding as hoped. If a symptom could plausibly result from either normal use or an installation error, our technician's on-site determination of cause governs, not the presence of the symptom itself. Determination is based on physical inspection of the installed parts and system programming, not on time elapsed or reported symptoms alone.
What's not covered: Sprinkler systems are exposed to constant outside factors, ground settling, water pressure changes, sediment, extreme heat, impact from vehicles or lawn equipment, pets, other trades, and normal wear. These are not workmanship issues, even if they affect the same area we worked on. Our warranty also does not cover turf or plant health (grass color, dead spots, growth), since that depends on watering, soil, and weather, not sprinkler function alone.
Warranty evaluation deposits: When a warranty evaluation visit is scheduled, a $10 deposit secures the appointment. If the issue is confirmed as a workmanship defect, the deposit is credited in full and no further charge applies. If the issue is not confirmed as a workmanship defect, the standard $195 diagnostic fee applies, and by booking the visit, client authorizes Contractor to charge the remaining $185 to the card on file. This fee covers the entire visit, including diagnosis, adjustments, and any minor parts needed to complete the assessment, and is not billed per item or part. This deposit handling is specific to warranty evaluation visits and supersedes the general non-refundable deposit terms in Section 9.
Why 14 days, not longer: Most true installation issues show up within the first couple weeks of use. Beyond that window, so many other factors come into play that it's no longer possible to reliably attribute an issue to the original work. A 14-day window lets us stand firmly behind real defects while keeping our pricing fair for everyone, since covering months of unrelated wear and tear would drive costs up across the board.
Field technician authority: Field technicians are not authorized to modify pricing, scope, or warranty terms verbally. Only written quotes and invoices reflect binding pricing and scope. Any statement made by a technician describing a repair or observation does not constitute a price quote or warranty determination.

7. Client Responsibilities
Client agrees to provide clear access to sprinkler valves, backflow, and system components, and to ensure the water supply is active at the time of scheduled service.
Contractor is not responsible for damage to buried cable, internet lines, invisible dog fences, low-voltage wiring, or private utilities not marked by 811 or Blue Stakes.
8. Permits & Utility Marking
Contractor coordinates 811 utility marking when required. Blue Stakes does not mark private irrigation wiring, low-voltage lighting, or homeowner-installed utilities.
9. Deposits & Scheduling
When required, a deposit must be paid to reserve labor and scheduling capacity. Deposits are applied toward the final project cost and are non-refundable once collected, except as otherwise specified for warranty evaluation visits in Section 6.
10. Payments & Chargebacks
Payment is due immediately upon completion of work. By approving this quote, client authorizes Legacy Sprinklers LLC to charge the payment method on file once work is complete.
If you have a billing accuracy concern (e.g., an invoice does not match the approved quote or completed work), contact Contractor within 48 hours of invoice. Contractor will work to resolve billing disputes within 5 business days. Clients agree to allow this resolution period before initiating a chargeback.
This 48-hour window applies to billing accuracy disputes only. Warranty claims regarding the quality of work performed follow the 14-day window described in Section 6.
Unpaid balances may be pursued through Utah small claims court.
11. Hidden System Failures
Sprinkler systems are interconnected underground networks. Repairing one component may expose additional failures that were not visible prior to testing.
Contractor is not responsible for unrelated failures discovered after the initial repair unless those components were included in the quoted scope.
12. Diagnostic Limitation
Diagnostic services identify the cause of the specific issue reported. A full irrigation system audit, redesign, or efficiency analysis is not included unless specifically requested and quoted separately.
13. Photos & Documentation
Contractor may document jobsite conditions and completed work for quality control, training, and marketing purposes unless the client declines in writing. Clients may request copies of any jobsite photos upon completion.
Final Acknowledgment
By approving a quote or submitting payment, the client confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
